R. Stephen Scott, J.D., CPA, is a founding partner of Scott & Scott, P.C. Steve received a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Marquette University in 1972. He was qualified as a Certified Public Accountant by the University of Illinois in 1975, and graduated with honors from IIT-Chicago Kent College of Law in 1977, where he earned a Juris Doctor degree.

Steve is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the United States District Courts for the Central and Southern Districts of Illinois, the United States Tax Court, the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of Illinois, and the Illinois Supreme, Appellate and Circuit Courts.

Steve is an Associate Professor of Commercial Law at the University of Illinois in Springfield (UIS), where he has been teaching in the Accounting Department for nearly 40 years. He is also a Regent of the American College of Attorney-Certified Public Accountants.

Gregory A. Scott is a founding partner of Scott & Scott, P.C. Greg received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Illinois State University in 1973, and his Juris Doctor from The John Marshall Law School in 1977. He is admitted to the Illinois Supreme Court and the United States District Court for the Central District of Illinois.

Greg is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and the Sangamon County Bar Association. He has served in the capacity of President, Vice-President and Treasurer of the Sangamon County Bar Association.

Greg is a past President of the Sangamon County Bar Association. He is the chair of the Illinois State Bar Association Judicial Evaluations-Outside Cook County Committee. He was the Chair of the Illinois State Bar Association Family Law Section Council.

Greg has served his community as an advisor to and a board member of various charitable and religious organizations. He is a past member of the Board of Directors of the Hope Institute in Springfield. He has been a frequent lecturer in the area of family law for the Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education, the Illinois State Bar Association and the National Business Institute.

Jared M. Scott is a third generation attorney and partner at Scott & Scott, P.C., following grandfather, Robert F. Scott, uncle, R. Stephen Scott and father, Gregory A. Scott. Jared is an experienced trial lawyer who has practiced in Chicago and Springfield, Illinois since 2001. Throughout his career, Jared has achieved successful results for his clients through trial, mediation, arbitration and settlement. He has extensive litigation background, representing a wide variety of clients from large corporations to minor children and achieving successful results for clients at all levels. No matter the size of the case or client, he understands they are equally important. Jared places a high priority on client communication and being available for his clients.
Jared's primary practice area is family law, including dissolution of marriage, parentage actions, adoptions, guardianships, marital property division, child support and maintenance. Jared is a certified mediator and arbitrator for family law, personal injury and general litigation matters and regularly serves as a children's representative and guardian ad litem. His practice areas also include personal injury, wrongful death, orders of protection, human rights, estate planning, and general litigation. Prior to joining Scott & Scott, P.C., Jared litigated cases for clients including hospitals, physicians, home health providers, hotels, auto-parts stores, product manufacturers and companies in toxic tort litigation with the law firm of Johnson & Bell, Ltd. In Chicago, Illinois. He also worked as a prosecutor for the City of Chicago's Traffic Division.

Pamela E. Hart is a partner at Scott & Scott, P.C. She joined the firm in 2009 after having clerked for the firm in 2007 and 2008. She obtained her Juris Doctorate from Valparaiso University School of Law in 2009, graduating summa cum laude. She graduated magna cum laude from Illinois College in Jacksonville, Illinois, in 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology.

Pamela maintains a general civil practice concentrating her practice in the areas of Estate Planning, Probate Administration, Elder law and Medicaid Planning. She also represents clients in corporate and business matters, family matters, real estate matters and civil and commercial litigation and is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Ilinois and before the United States District Court for the Central District of Illinois.

She is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, Central Illinois Women's Bar Association (President 2012-2013), Illinois State Bar Association and Sangamon County Bar Association. She is also an active member of the Lincoln-Douglas Inns of Court and Young Philanthropists and sits on various boards and committees in the community.

Jason T.H. Germeraad joined Scott & Scott in 2007 after clerking with the Cook County State's Attorney's Office and the Illinois Attorney General's Office in Chicago. Jason graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Illinois Wesleyan University in 2001 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Russian.

Jason received his J.D. from Cornell Law School in 2005. He also attended the Institute of International and Comparative Law at the Sorbonne in Paris in 2003. Jason is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and Appellate Lawyers Association and a director of the Sangamon County Bar Association. Jason has been peer selected as an Emerging Lawyer by Leading Lawyers Network in the areas of commercial litigation and bankruptcy.

He concentrates his practice in the areas of general litigation, appellate litigation, bankruptcy, foreclosure, collections, contracts, real estate, probate, and estate planning.
 
 
 
 

Justin M. Tabatabai


Justin M. Tabatabai is an associate attorney at Scott & Scott, P.C., who joined Scott & Scott in 2017. Justin obtained his Bachelor of Science from Bradley University in 2010 and his Juris Doctor from Southern Illinois University School of Law in 2014. Justin obtained a Timothy Roberts Creative Writing Scholarship and was a staff writer for the American Bar Association's quarterly publication, "Young Lawyers Committee Newsletter."

Justin's primary practice area is family law, including dissolution of marriage, child custody, child support, maintenance and guardianship matters. His other practice areas include orders of protection, home foreclosures and general litigation. Justin treats each client with respect, dignity, and confidence. Prior to joining Scott & Scott, P.C., Justin practiced family and foreclosure law with Land of Lincoln Legal Assistance Foundation, Inc. in Springfield, Illinois. He has given presentations to domestic violence victims, shelters, and other local organizations on emerging issues in family law and victim’s rights.
